Stanbic National Schools Championship
Terms and Conditions
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Stanbic National Schools Championship (NSC), a program designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among Ugandan students. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the rules and regulations governing your participation in the NSC. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Eligibility:
- The NSC is open to all registered secondary and vocational schools in Uganda.
- Participating schools must designate a faculty member as the “Patron Teacher” who will act as the primary point of contact and oversee the team’s participation.
- Students participating in the Innovation Challenge and Bootcamp must be currently enrolled secondary and vocational school students.
Program Stages:
The NSC program consists of several stages:
- Application: Schools submit an application outlining their proposed business/social enterprise idea.
- Training of Trainers (ToT): Selected schools participate in a training program equipping Patron Teachers with the tools to guide their students.
- Innovation Challenge: Schools conduct the Innovation Challenge with their students, allowing them to develop and refine their business/social enterprise ideas.
- Bootcamp: Shortlisted schools participate in an intensive bootcamp focused on honing their business ideas, entrepreneurial skills, and innovation.
- Final Selection: Based on various criteria, a final selection of schools will compete for the NSC championship title, season 9.
Expectations and Conduct:
- All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner throughout the program.
- Any form of misconduct, including bullying, harassment, or discrimination, will not be tolerated.
- Sexual Harassment: The NSC has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment. This includes any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
- Child Protection: The NSC is committed to the safety and well-being of all participants. Any behavior that could put a child at risk, including physical or emotional abuse, will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Schools and participants are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of their students throughout the program.
Selection and Elimination:
- Schools will be selected to move forward in the program based on pre-defined criteria, including the potential of their idea, presentation quality, and regional representation.
- Failure to comply with these Terms or engage in misconduct may result in disqualification from the program at any stage.
- Schools that are eliminated from the program will be notified promptly.
Intellectual Property:
- All intellectual property rights associated with the business/social enterprise ideas developed during the program remain with the participating schools and students.
- The NSC reserves the right to use non-confidential details of the submitted ideas for promotional purposes.
Confidentiality:
- Participants agree to keep confidential all non-public information they receive during the program.
Modification of Terms:
- The NSC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post any changes on the NSC website and notify participants.
